A Real Baths for a Real Boy

Ben has decided that he loved to take real baths! He has a few bath toys and he just splashes around and throws his toys and just gives the biggest smiles!! He is fascinated my the water that drips from the faucet! He still doesn't like when we pour water over his head to rinse his hair but at lease he doesn't scream anymore!! He has two balls that are bath toys and i swear he is already saying ball.. it comes out "ba" or more like "buh" but he says it!! (We all know that mama was is first word though!!)

A Highchair for Ben!

Grandma Dossett bought Ben a highchair!! He loves that his food is right in front of him! He is so smart!! He learned the "pincher grasp".. you know the whole picking things up with his finger and thumb! He just all of a sudden started to do it last Saturday! He even started with really small things like Cheerios and Puffs. I've tried to give him peas and such but he just squishes them and drops them in his lap!


This is the first time he sat in his highchair! He actually got a puff stuck to his nose!

New swimming suit!

Here is Ben's new swim diaper from Nana Call. Daddy says he looks like a Cabana Boy! We tried to go swimming on Saturday but the pool was closed!!

Beggin' Boy

Ben's new favorite thing is to pull himself up on the couch and beg for food. Oh, by the way, HE'S PULLING HIMSELF UP ON THINGS!! He pulled himself to a standing position on the couch yesterday! Last night he saw Toby eating chocolate ice cream and decided that he was entitled to some dessert. The video speaks for itself, but let me tell you that he is the cutest little beggar ever!!

New Developments!

Monday morning Ben crawled for the very first time. I mean actual moving arms and legs to get somewhere!! He only did it a few times but he's getting better and better at it! However, if he wants to get somewhere fast, he lunges AKA worms AKA moves like a walrus! He is growing up so fast!!

He is starting to pull himself up on things now. First thing was a suitcase, then a big bag of paper towel rolls. He fell off the paper towels and bonked his head but he was just a little scared and some cuddle time with momma made it all better!! His new favorite thing to do lately is try to climb into his bouncer. Here is a picture!Bne has also started to eat Cheerios. We are moving on to goldfish crackers soon. He love, love, love, love, loves Cheerios. We had some multi-grain cheerios and he started eating the and now he's addicted. lol. Last night our friends brought over some peanut butter and they dipped some cheerios in some peanut butter and Ben thought that was the greatest thing he's ever eaten!! He's such an adorable little thing!

Momma had to take him to class on Wednesday! He was such a cutie pie and melted everyone's heart! They all said that he much look like his daddy because he certainly doesn't look a thing like me! I've been saying that for a long time, but i think atleast he was my nose.. and probably my small mouth! He is teething again, cutting one of his upper teeth!

Ben is such a blessing! He is nursing every 6 hours.. which is nice for momma! He is pretty much sleeping through the night, on wakes once and we put him back to sleep. FOr some reason, daddy is the ONLY one who can rock Ben to sleep them put him down and actually have him stay asleep! If we leave him with anyone, they all say that he falls asleep but wakes wide up when they try and put him down! How weird is that!?!?!? Even momma can't do it! SHe has to put him down with Keith the Koala and turn on his music and he puts himself to sleep! he is such a good little boy when it comes to nap time (most of the time!) 'Back to sleep' or 'tummy time'

Ah, the heated argument between putting your baby to sleep on his back or his tummy. We, of course, put him to sleep on his back when he was a newborn because he couldn't hold up his head. Although he did start holding up his head up at barely two weeks!!! However, now that he is great at rolling over, and does it all the time, its hard to keep him on his back! I'll come into his room to check on him and he's rolled over and is now on his tummy, with his hand strategically places near his mouth in case he needs a finger to suck on. I don't feel like this is a problem, really. He sleeps well, he is very healthy and he LOVES to sleep on his tummy. So, what my boy loves, he gets!!
Lately I've been reading sites about when your baby should be sleeping through the night and I realized that Ben could easily sleep through the night if I didn't get up to feed him every 4 hours. We have been trying to help get him into a routine that encourages him to sleep all night. we decided that Daddy would go in at night when he cries because if mommy goes in, all he wants to do is eat. The first night, he woke up twice and we back to sleep with a little help from Daddy. The second night he woke up once, and last night he didn't wake up at all. Usually he will wake up around the same time that daddy does, around 715-730 ish. So, I will get up and feed him then we will both go back to sleep for about another hour. I absolutely loves this because I'm getting alot of sleep. Oh, and all three mornings, Ben takes a nap around 930 as well and sleeps for another couple hours.
I'm so grateful that Toby is willing to get up at night with Ben and let me get some much needed sleep. It's been awhile since I've gotten a good night's sleep. WE LOVE YOU TOBY/DADDY!!!
